Tá teipthe ar iarrachtaí i gcoinne iarrachtaí Feis Damhsa Gaelach a chur ar bun i dTel Aviv ar an mhí seo chugainn, an chéad imeacht den tsórt riamh in Iosrael. Dar le fógra a foilsíodh inniu ar shuíomh 1st Feis Tel Aviv ar Facebook, ‘Unfortunately we have to announce the cancellation of what would have been the 1st Israeli Feis. Not long ago the feis page started to be attacked by a radical political group called Irish Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) led by Raymond Deane, Kevin Squires and Amanda Crawford. Threatening messages were sent not only to our teachers, but also parents and students. Age, nationality, or religious beliefs do not matter to us. Unfortunately, there was a protest outside of our dance studio. We do not want to risk safety of anyone connected to the Carey Academy. The feis was not meant to be anything more than what it really is – a celebration of dancing, friendship and joy. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to people who may have already booked tickets but I am sure you understand the safety of our dancers is our number one priority.’ Bhí ollfheachtas ann i gcoinne na hiarrachta seo chun Feis a reachtáil agus go leor leor den fhreasúra sin ar Facebook agus Twitter. Tarraingíodh isteach san fheachtas Éireannaigh thar lear mar aon le daoine sa bhaile agus rinne na meáin, http://www.tuairisc.ie agus http://www.raidiofailte.ie san áireamh, an sceal a thuairisciú. Bhí 2,276 duine i ndiaidh achainí ar líne a shíniú. Tá craobh den Carey Academy, scoil rince Gaelach atá lonnaithe in Birmingham Shasana, bunaithe in Iosrael anos. Ní léir an mbeidh siad, amach anseo, ag reáchtáil Feis i dTel Aviv.
